Andrzej Glodek is the youngest member of a trio of master luthiers that have set up shop in Nowy Targ, Poland. He began studying violin making at the National Lyceum of Art in Zakopane. He also graduated from the Art Academy in Krakow with sculpture as his specialization. Andrzej then apprenticed under the Polish master Jan Bobak before striking out on his own. Glodek makes mainly violas which are played by many respected musicians around the world. His violas have a beautiful, rich sound that is sought after by advanced violists. He makes exceptionally modeled, ergonomic violas that focus on tone and playability.
